What is Out of Country Medical Insurance?

What is Out of Country Medical Insurance?

Out of Country Medical insurance claims (also known as Travel Medical Insurance claims) arise when one has travelled outside of Canada and has taken out insurance to cover medical expenses for any illness or accident that comes up while away and needs to go to the hospital to deal with this illness or injury.

This insurance is popular as it's relatively easy to buy. However the medical questionnaire that must be filled out upon purchase can create problems if you need to put in claim. Specifically, the insurance company will be trying to prove that any pre-existing condition you may have was not stable upon the time of travel, essentially blaming the pre-existing condition for any medical expenses occurred.
