Long Term Disability & Insufficient Medical Evidence
Long Term Disability & Insufficient Medical Evidence

Many times long term disability claims are denied because of lack of medical evidence, but that’s not the ONLY reason.

Sometimes, your doctor fits their answers into the spaces on the insurance form. The first response from the insurance company, not surprisingly, is that there is insufficient evidence.

In other cases, it’s semantics. On a form, your doctor says you’ll be off work for 4 to 6 months. At that point, they’ll want to reassess you; they’re not guaranteeing you’ll be able to go back to work at that point. However, the insurance companies tend to view that answer literally - after 6 months, you’ll be fine and they won’t have to pay out long term disability benefits any longer.

Our disability lawyers can help navigate the disability insurance claim process.
